Mr. Kamran Kamal

Kamran Kamal is an energy technology and policy specialist with experience in several different areas, including business strategy, wholesale electricity market reforms, electricity derivatives, energy technology evaluation and large scale infrastructure project structuring. He holds a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University and a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech.

He joined HUBCO as Chief Executive Officer Laraib Energy Limited, Pakistan’s first Hydel Independent Power Plant (IPP). Prior to becoming CEO of Laraib Energy Limited, Kamran held the position of Vice President, China Power Hub Generation Company where he was responsible for development of Barge Jetty and fuel supply chain for 1320 MW Coal fired Power Plant.

Previously, he was Commodities Trade Head, Engro EXIMP FZE where he managed Fertiliser, Coal, Oilseeds and Sugar Trading Portfolio. He led the company’s growth into new geographies and commodities portfolio. During his tenure at Engro, Kamran was also involved in major energy & infrastructure projects including Thar Coal Mining & Power Plant, LNG Floating terminal and RLNG based power plant.

Throughout the years, Kamran has been responsible for large capital projects, building organizational capabilities and for overall business delivery in both management, executive and Board roles. Under Kamran’s leadership, HUBCO will focus on retaining its position as a market leader by focusing on renewables, merchant market model for the power sector and diversification into sustainable solutions.

Mr. Aly Khan

Aly Khan is an Honors M.Sc. Graduate from Boston College and an Undergraduate B.S. from Northeastern University.

Over the course of the last decade he has cultivated his professional career working in London, Singapore and New York for various global institutions including Citi Group and Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation in several management and training capacities.

Locally, Mr. Khan has extended valuable contributions to multiple ventures through key management roles including spearheading the construction and operation of Pakistan’s first commercial L.E.E.D. Certified Building, setting up a state-of-the-art 10,000 ton per day cement plant and growing one of the country’s largest dairy businesses to 600,000 liters per day of sales.

He is the Chairman of Pioneer Cement Ltd., Chairman of Haleeb Foods Limited, Director of Qasim International Container Terminal. He is a SECP certified director in corporate governance.

Mr. Saleemullah Memon

Mr. Saleemullah Memon joined Hubco in March 2015 as Director Finance for the New Venture Division of the Company. He has been spearheading company’s efforts to arrange debt and equity financing for its growth projects. He is serving as the CEO of Thar Energy Limited since July 2017, a subsidiary of Hubco, which is developing a 330MW Coal Fired power plant in Thar.

Prior to joining Hubco, Saleem worked with Engro Corporation for 16 years and has diverse experience in the areas of finance, agri-marketing, business development and supply chain management.

Saleem is a graduate of Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.

Mr. Amjad Raja

Amjad Raja is Vice President Operations at HUBCO. His core responsibility is to ensure safe, reliable and efficient Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of HUBCO’s own Power Plants and also provide expert technical services to our associated companies, JV partners and other prominent energy companies of the Country.

Amjad in his previous role had successfully set up a team and worked on capability development to enable the Operations function to smoothly carry out O&M of HUBCO’s upcoming Thar Power Projects.

Prior to that, Amjad had been the Station Manager Narowal and had successfully led the transition from Malaysian Operator (TNB) led O&M to self O&M. In addition, he played a pivotal role in orchestrating the turn-around of Narowal Energy Limited by aligning the organization structure, establishing effective management processes and developing solid technical capability. He demonstrated the highest efficiency and generation numbers in his tenure, further validating the Company’s decision to carry out self O&M.

He has been associated with HUBCO since 2013 and has more than 20 years of experience working in the Power Sector in different leadership and functional positions. Prior to his association with HUBCO he was working with Wartsila Pakistan. Amjad has also worked with Shell Ship Management UK for 11 years as a Marine Engineer where he was exposed to stringent audits, strict safety standards and port state surveys from around the world. He has a vast experience in leading large teams, negotiating O&M contracts and implementing engineering & safety initiatives such as Six sigma and DuPont Safety Management System. He is a Chartered Engineer and also holds an MBA degree.
